A Chat with my Learning Partner

In PIDP3100, I had a learning partner who works in the Assessment Center of a college and these are the trends in her field:

• In three years, went from proctoring on campus exams to video-proctoring online exams
• Increase in proctoring external exams
• Increase in workload, still staff number didn't change much, need to be agile  
• Observed a trend for more authentic way to assess that’s not exam-based

These are some trends in adult education:

• online courses and online proctoring: Linked In Learning, free online courses or workshops, MOOCs
• Universal Design for Learning (UDL) 
• More micro credentials – no longer need big physical institutions
• trend in political nature of education and influence on research funding
• Flexible hybrid University
